Turkey’s young generation gets acquainted with offshore sports through Formula Future Turkey Championship…

Aiming to introduce water sports to the 8-18 age group, to instill the love of seas in this young generation and to raise new athletes for our country, the championship will be organized annually and held in various locations in Turkey.

The championship events will be organized by Istanbul Offshore Club in accordance with the regulations imposed by Union Internationale Motonautique (UIM) and Turkish Developing Sports Federation and will be held in the race weeks of “Isiklar World Offshore Championship”.

Formula Future Turkey Championship:
A total of 40 children will compete in 5 different classes in the 2012 season of the championship and the contenders will be selected by the schools and the Provincial Sport Directorates in the province where the races will be held.

Formula Future Turkey will consist of 7+1 (finale) races to be held in 7 different provinces in 7 weekends. The races will be run against the clock and the winners of the first and second positions will get the right to enter the final race.

Due to the fact that this year’s World Championship will take place on August 17-19, a National Team that will be formed by the winners of the first four provinces will go to Prague to represent Turkey while the winners of the selection races in all 7 provinces will continue to contend for the Turkish Championship title. The team that will win the final race will be declared the Formula Future Turkey Champions.

Inflatable rigid hull boats compliant with Union Internationale Motonautique (UIM) regulations will be used in the races. Trainings, tryouts and selections will take place one week before the race week of “Isiklar World Offshore 225 Championship” and the final races in each province will be run on Saturdays.

The championship’s aim is to spread motonautique sports to a wider base in Turkey and to raise young athletes for this sports branch. Preparations in the province where the races will be run will start with setup activities on the Thursday of the relevant week with trainings scheduled for Friday, tryouts and selection to be held on Saturday and semifinal races to be run on Sundays.
