BRP swept the podium of the 3rd annual Union Internationale Motonautique (UIM) World Offshore 225 Championship (WOC) in Turkey last October. Of all the boats competing, all but one was powered by BRP's Evinrude outboard engines. A radical change from 2010 when only two boats were powered by standard Evinrude engines, and they occupied the first two positions.

After 20 nail biting races in 10 cities around Turkey, the competitors and guests from U.S.A., France, Italy, Spain and Turkey were treated on October 31, 2011 to a Championship Gala Dinner at Portax in Istanbul, home of the organising body. Not only were the 1st, 2nd and 3rd place boats powered by BRP's Evinrude E-TEC engines, but BRP was also awarded the title of ‘Manufacturer of the year’ at the awards ceremony.

The championship, organised by the Istanbul Offshore Club, has been running since 2003 and in this class of racing the rules stipulate that all boats must be similarly powered, using a single standard outboard engine, mounted on the same weight.

The 2011 championship saw 13 out of the 14 teams powering their boats with Evinrude E TEC 225 H.O. outboards. These engines really do take performance to the next level. The high performing SLE gearcase significantly increases waterflow to the engine and provides increased cooling ability and capacity, while the high-quality gears and stiffer engine mounts ensure superior handling and control at high speeds.

The race teams are all supported by BRP's Evinrude distributor Deparmotor. Professional technical crew and Manager Vidal Itkin has a long standing history with Evinrude.
