Istanbul Offshore Club and Losev Hand in Hand on Valentine’s Day…

Prior to the start of the 2012 season, Istanbul Offshore Club and the teams, pilots and sponsors donated goods to meet the needs of the gym at the elementary school of LOSEV (Foundation for Children with Leukemia).

The proceeds of the campaign organized and participated by IOC, teams, pilots and sponsors to meet the needs of the gym at LOSEV’s Kindergarten and Elementary School for Children with Leukemia in Ankara were donated in kind to LOSEV on February 14 Valentine’s Day.

Acting with the slogan of “Children are our most precious Valentines”, management of Istanbul Offshore Club, and representatives of sponsors Edox - Mey Saat and SIF – JCB joined the children at LOSEV’s workshop DUKKAN in Istanbul.

Zuhal On, the foundation’s Coordinator for Istanbul and LOSEV employees were also present during the visit by IOC President Ugur Isik and the club’s management team, athletes and representatives of Edox and SIF-JCB.

The symbolic check representing the donations in kind for the needs of the gym at the elementary school in Ankara was presented to LOSEV officials. Speaking during the ceremony Ugur Isik, IOC President, said, “Children are the future of this country and our most precious treasures. We, as a sports club, are honored to supply the sports equipment of the school as part of our collaboration with LOSEV which assumes an important role in the children’s treatment. I would like to thank the teams, the pilots and our sponsors Edox and SIF-JCB for their sensitivity about this cause. We would also like to extend our gratitude to LOSEV for enabling us to organize this support on Valentine’s Day and for their mission.”

Zuhal On, LOSEV’s Coordinator for Istanbul, emphasized that the foundation places great importance on social responsibility projects carried out in collaboration with organizations and stated that they will be happy to continue such collaborations with IOC. On continued, “We are hoping that our children will be able to attend the races as visitors where suitable during the 2012 calendar of Istanbul Offshore Club which organizes the IOC World Offshore 225 Championship that has produced World Champions from Turkey and we look forward to establishing a long-lasting collaboration through events that will help the children appreciate and like this sport.”
