Proud Night of the Offshore Championship 05.12.2012
2012 Işıklar World Offshore 225 Championship closed the season with a spectacular event. At the award ceremony of the championship sponsored by Işıklar Holding, Alpay Akdilek – Kerem Tuncer duo of Team ECI Men Cosmetics (88) raised the World Championship Trophy for the fourth time in their careers. The second place in the championship was taken by Team Beşiktaş – Miele with pilots Murat Leki – Tuğberk Uca – Orçun Tufan while third place was claimed by YKM Sport (2) with pilots Saruhan Tan – Kerim Zorlu – Cengiz Cennetoğlu.

Speaking at the award ceremony, Istanbul Offshore Club President Uğur Işık congratulated and thanked all the teams and the rescue team for their performance and success throughout the entire season, and all the sponsors for their support.

2012 Işıklar World Offshore 225 Championship took place in six different provinces where a total of 14 races were run throughout 2012 and the season ended with a spectacular night where the teams received their trophies. Team ECI Men Cosmetics (88) ranked first in the general classification with 2,635 points, followed by Team Beşiktaş – Miele with 1,633 points in second and Team YKM Sport (2) with 1,603 points in third places, respectively. The watches specially designed for Class 1 World Offshore Championship by Edox, the Official Timekeeper of the World Offshore Championship were presented to the winners by Fatih Yaman, General Manager of Mey Saat, Edox’s Turkish Distributor. Vidal İtkin of Depar Motor A.Ş., Turkish Distributor of Evinrude received the award for Evinrude which was named the Winner in Motor Manufacturers Category; Yuka Yacht was named the Winner in the Boat Manufacturers Category.


Emre Güler elected UIM Formula Future Committee President 23.10.2012
After organizing the first Formula Future Turkey Championship in 2012, Istanbul Offshore Club is now the head of UIM Formula Future Committee in the same season. Emre Güler has been elected the president of UIM Formula Future Committee by the UIM Council.

Istanbul Offshore Club Secretary General Emre Güler has been elected the president of U.I.M. Formula Future Committee by the UIM Council during the 85th UIM General Assembly which took place in Corfu, Greece.

Russia was one of the candidates for the position which opened with the resignation of the current president and after the other countries decided to nominate Turkey for the position, a Turkish candidate was elected as the president of this committee for the first time.


Isiklar World Offshore 225 Champions Received Their Medals at Caddebostan 21.10.2012
Isıklar World Offshore 225 Championship 2012 season came to an end with the final race, Palladium Shopping Center Grand Prix in Istanbul. The final race became the scene of unexpected surprises. The winners of 2012 Isiklar World Offshore 225 Championship Kerem Tuncer and Alpay Akdilek, earning the title for the fourth time, crashed with the Polimersan boat and retired from the race without any points; however the team still won the World Championship with their score of 2.635 points in the general classification.
The winner of Palladium Shopping Center Grand Prix 2 was Angel Yachts (66) which fought hard for a place on the podium throughout the season. Pilots Cengiz Şıklaroğlu and Uğur Yelken finished the race with a time of 54.02.637 and stepped on the podium for their first win. Second place was taken by a frequenter of the podium, Team YKM Sport piloted by Kerim Zorlu and Cengiz Cennetoğlu with a time of 54.14.150. The third place on the podium went to Team Besiktas – Miele with pilots Murat Leki and Tuğberk Uca who finished with a time of 54.14.150.
With the last race of the season over, second place in the general classification of World and Turkish Championship was taken by Team Besiktas – Miele (1.633 points) and third place by Team YKM Sport with pilots Kerim Zorlu and Cengiz Cennetoğlu (1.603 points).

The performance of all the teams during the qualifying rounds of “Palladium Shopping Center Grand Prix 2” organized by Istanbul Offshore Club and sponsored by Palladium Shopping Center was 1 or 2 seconds slower compared to the previous day. The rough weather conditions made it more difficult for the teams in the qualifying rounds which ended with Besiktas – Miele in pole position (01.39.622) followed by Polimersan Racing Team (01.40.682) and one second later by YKM Sport.


Palladium Grand Prix Excitement at Caddebostan Coast in Istanbul 20.10.2012
“Palladium Grand Prix 1”, the first race in the final leg of Işıklar World Offshore 225 Championship was run on Saturday, October 20th at the Caddebostan coast in Istanbul. ECI Men Cosmetics – Besiktas Miele and YKM Sport teams took the three places on the podium.
Palladium Grand Prix 1 winner was ECI Cosmetics Men team who broke their own record of consecutive wins with 14 victories. Team pilots Kerem Tuncer and Alpay Akdilek finished the race with a time of 53.06.976 and became the owner of a new record.
The second place on the podium was claimed by team Besiktas – Miele after some serious competition with team YKM Sport. Murat Leki and Tugberk Uca of team Besiktas – Miele scored a time of 53.19.331 and won second place followed three seconds later by YKM Sport with pilots Kerim Zorlu and Cengiz Cennetoglu who finished the race at 53.22.638.

Organized by Istanbul Offshore Club and sponsored by Palladium Shopping Center, “Palladium Shopping Center Grand Prix 1” started with qualifying rounds at 11 am. At the end of the qualifying rounds which started with 8 teams, ECI Men Cosmetics team (88) took pole position with their time of 01.37.033. They were followed by team YKM Sport (2) with a difference of 2 seconds while Polimersan Racing Team (7) finished at 01.41.181 and took third place at the race lineup.


“Isiklar World Offshore 225 Championship” Grand Finale In Istanbul 17.10.2012
Isiklar World Offshore 225 Championship’s 2012 season comes to an end with final races in Istanbul – Caddebostan. The last races of the 2012 season of Isiklar World Offshore 225 Championship will be run as “Palladium Shopping Center Grand Prix 1” and “Palladium Shopping Center Grand Prix 2” on October 20-21. General classification as well as World and Turkey champions will be determined at the end of this weekend’s races.

While Team ECI Men Cosmetics (with pilots Alpay Akdilek and Kerem Tuncer) has already guaranteed its championship before the season is over and is in the lead with 2415 points in the general classification, a cut-throat competition is expected for second and third places. After repeating their record of 13 consecutive wins in the Gaziantep round, team ECI Men Cosmetics is now aiming to break its own record in the final races.


Team ECI Men Cosmetics One Again the Winner in Gaziantep 01.10.2012
Finishing the Gaziantep Grand Prix 2 in the first place, team ECI Men Cosmetics repeated their record with 13 consecutive wins in Isiklar World Offshore 225 Championship.
Pilots Kerem Tuncer and Alpay Akdilek on ECI Men Cosmetics boat (88) finished with a time of 31.56.744; while team Besiktas-Miele (3) achived a time of 32.14.496 and took second place on the podium. It was a tough race for pilots Murat Leki and Tugberk Uca of Besiktas-Miele team but they succeeded to take second place despite difficulties at the start of the race. They were followed by YKM Sport (2) piloted by Kerim Zorlu and Saruhan Tan who finished with a time of 33.16.054.


Isiklar World Offshore 225 Championship Gaziantep Grand Prix 2, started with great excitement. Besiktas-Miele boat burst a buoy immediately after the start; as double yellow flags were waved the race continued in slow speed in the company of the start boat. ECI Men Cosmetics, Polimersan and GSYİAD-Galatasaray boats received stop-go penalty due to rule violation. After the new buoy was placed, the race commissioners decided to re-start the 20-lap race with 8 teams.


The Ancient City of Zeugma Meets State of The Art Offshore Boats 29.09.2012
Isiklar World Offshore 225 Championship takes place in Gaziantep, one of the most beautiful destinations in southeastern Turkey this weekend. Eleventh race of the season was run on the Birecik Dam Lake basin, on the shores of Euphrates River. ECI Men Cosmetics (88) piloted by Kerem Tuncer and Alpay Akdilek was once again the team to win the race with a time of 47:58.189.
Second place on the podium was taken by Kerim Zorlu and Saruhan Tan of YKM Sport (2) with their time of 48.07.299; they were followed by Besiktas-Miele with Murat Leki and Tugberk Uca who finished the race at 48.12.806.


The day started at 11.00 am with qualifying rounds on the Birecik Dam Lake that covers the ancient city of Zeugma. 8 boats with 16 pilots competed in the qualifying rounds to take pole position. Championship’s current leader ECI Men Cosmetics team achieved a time of 01.29,949 and took pole position followed 3 seconds later by Efe Project-Mitsubishi Electric Racing and 4 milliseconds after that by Besiktas-Miele.


Class 1 World Powerboat Championship At Lake Como 20.09.2012
The fourth leg of UIM 2012 Class 1 World Powerboat Championship will be run in Cernobbio, Italy. This is the first race after the unfortunate accident during Gabon GP and Ugur Isik-Chiristian Zaborowski duo on Isiklar-Zabo boat will compete to take their place on the podium.

Two teams from the UAE are currently in the top two ranks in the championship in which 10 teams are contending and team Isiklar-Zabo is in the fifth place. At nine points each, the Turkish-Norwegian duo shares fifth position with Spirit of Qatar (95) from Qatar. The program in Cernobbio will begin on Friday, Sep 21 with technical checks and official practice and continue with qualifying rounds at 3.00 pm the same day. Italian Grand Pix 1 will start at 2.30 pm on Saturday, Sep 22 and will be followed by Italian Grand Prix 2 at the same hour the next day. The program will be completed with victory ceremony on Sunday, Sep 23.


“Isiklar World Offshore 225 Championship” Excitement In The Mediterranean 15.09.2012
Mersin Grand Prix races of “Işıklar World Offshore 225 Championship” are run this weekend. On the first day of the Mersin MTSO Grand Prix, the winner was team ECI Men Cosmetics (88) piloted by Kerem Tuncer- Alpay Akdilek duo that finished the race with a time of 37.48.500 and took home their eighth victory this season.
The second place was claimed by Efe Project Mitsubishi Electric Racing Team which brought great joy to Mersin by winning in their hometown. Pilots Nevzat Arman and Onur Özgül with a time of 38.02.750 were followed by team YKM Sport in third place. Team pilots Kerim Zorlu and Cengiz Cennetoglu succeeded to finish with a time of 39.02 296 and added more points to their overall score.

Organized by Istanbul Offshore Club on the weekend of September 15 and 16, the championship’s Mersin races started with qualifying rounds on Saturday morning. Currently ranking first in the overall classification with 1535 points, team ECI Men Cosmetics took pole position with their time of 1.38.375 while Efe Project Mitsubishi Electric Racing Team finished the qualifying rounds with a time of 1.42.937 and took second place at the lineup, followed 1 second later by YKM Sport. Mersin MTSO Grand Prix which started with 8 boats began at 2.00 pm.


Safter Star Boat Wins Elio Powerboat Rally Cup 08.09.2012
Organized for the first time in Turkey by Istanbul Offshore Club and Powerboats & Yachts magazine, “ELIO Powerboat Rally” took place on Saturday, September 8, 2012. Nine boats participated in the event and competed to achieve the highest score by collecting the cards at five stops. Safter Star Boat team of Anastasia Ağakay, Uluç Ağakay and Şakir Ünal succeeded to get 75 points total and won both the Rally cup and the first prize of a diamond-sapphire necklace provided by Karun Jewellery.

Sponsored by Elio and organized by Istanbul Offshore Club, ELIO Powerboat Rally is the first powerboat rally in Turkey. The Rally started at 11 pm at Ataköy Elio Marina Park with the participation of 9 teams that tried to reach the highest score by collecting the cards at five stops; Ataköy – Marina, Tuzla – Dodo Balık, Sedef Island – Elio Beach, Tavşan (Rabbit) Island and Tarabya Big Chef’s. Alpay Günaydın – Figen Gür duo on Pufiş boat took second place in the race with 66 points. They were followed by Mehmet Şamnu – Alper Tavman – Aydın Samanlı – Melih Maluş and Mine Kalpakçıoğlu on Iasminum as they succeeded to collect 55 points. All the teams received Creed fragrances as gifts and Sonax special car care kits were presented to the top three teams.

Organized for the first time in Turkey by Istanbul Offshore Club and Powerboats & Yachts magazine, Elio Powerboat Rally invites all powerboat owners to Marmara for a day full of fun and excitement.
Powerboat Rally which started in the US and spread to many other countries is a very popular powerboat event and it will be held in Turkey for the first time by Istanbul Offshore Club and Powerboats & Yachts magazine. Sponsored by Elio, the event aims to offer a day filled with fun, excitement and pleasant competition.
The participants in the Elio Powerboat Rally will try to reach the highest score by collecting the cards with images of Istanbul which will be collected at 5 stops. While the participants will be competing to get the highest score by completing the race course, they will also take part in different activities at each stop which will add even more action and dynamism to the weekend. The winner will receive a diamond and sapphire necklace provided by Karun Jewellery and all the winners will also receive surprise gifts.


Formula Future Stars Shone In Prague 21.08.2012
“Young Stars on Water” succeeded to take seventh place in their first Formula Future World Championship.
Participating in the UIM Formula Future World Championship held in Prague, the capital of Czech Republic, on August 17-19 for the first time, the Turkish National Team succeeded to take seventh place among 70 athletes from 11 countries.


The winners of the five categories in the Formula Future Turkey Championship organized for the first time in 2012 by Istanbul Offshore Club and held in the province of Van represented Turkey in Prague. Aged 8-18, the five national athletes succeeded to have the Turkish flag raised during the medal ceremony and achieved their first international victory in the first year of championship.

National athletes Taha Kalkan in Class 1, Muhammed Ikbal Karakoyun in Class 2, Baran Caner in Class 3, Baran Enterilli in Class 4 and Hakan Akdeniz in Class 5 represented Turkey in the World Championship where they competed in various disciplines like maneuver, parallel slalom and knot tying, and took Turkey to seventh place with their total points.


Team ECI Men Cosmetics Sees Checkered Flag First Yet Again In Erdek 12.08.2012
The fourth round of Isiklar World Offshore 225 Championship is taking place this weekend in Erdek. The first race was completed with yet another victory from Kerem Tuncer and Alpay Akdilek, the unbeatable duo who have won all the races of this season so far. Team ECI Men Cosmetics’ time of 43.43.296 was followed 1.4 seconds later by Lenore Yacht with pilots Ilker Ozmen and Umur Duyar, the youngest team of the championship. The third place on the podium was claimed by Kerim Zorlu and Cengiz Cennetoglu of team YKM Sport who finished Erdek Grand Prix 1 with a time of 44:24.187.

Hosted by Erdek Municipality, Isiklar World Offshore 225 Championship Erdek Grand Prix 1 was held at Ice & Sun Beach Club in the Kurbagli Beach area. The event, supported by Banvit as food sponsor and Hotel Agrigento as accommodation sponsor, started with qualifying rounds in the morning with 10 teams and 20 pilots. The championship leader, team ECI Men Cosmetics (Kerem Tuncer - Alpay Akdilek) took pole position with a time of 01.19.937. They were followed 2 second later by Ilker Özmen and Umur Duyar of team Lenore Yacht. The third place at the lineup was taken by team Besiktas-Miele with pilots Tugberk Uca and Murat Leki.

Turkey’s Ambassador to Gabon extends his support to Ugur Isik 12.07.2012
Ahmet Demirer, Ambassador of Turkey to Gabon, visited Ugur Isik who is currently in Libreville for the Africa leg of Class 1 World Powerboat Championship. Having learned that Isik is the only Turkish pilot competing in the Gabon Grand Prix which will take place on July 13-14, the Ambassador visited him at the race center and attended the press conference before the race.


Young Stars on Water Shone On Lake Van 08.07.2012
On 7th June 2012 Lake Van became the stage of two championships, both organized by Istanbul Offshore Club. Isiklar World Offshore 225 Championship was followed by IOC Formula Future Turkey Championship and the people of Van had a great day full of sports events.
Formula Future Turkey champions are: Taha Kalkan (2004) in Class 1’, Emir Caniş (2001) in Class 2’, Baran Caner (2000) in Class 3’, Baran Enterilli (1997) in Class 4 and Hakan Akdeniz (1996) in Class 5’.


Aiming to instill the love of water sports in the youth and to raise young athletes who will represent Turkey in the international arena in the future, the project took place for the first time in Van. Following extensive trainings and eliminations held in June and early July in Van, 50 young athletes competed to take their place in the national team which will represent Turkey in the World Championship in Prague, the capital of Czech Republic.


Işıklar World Offshore 225 Championship on Lake Van 07.07.2012
The fifth race of Isiklar World Offshore 225 Championship took place at Lake Van with 9 boats at the lineup. ECI Men Cosmetics (88), the unbeatable team with pilots Kerem Tuncer and Alpay Akdilek finished the race in the first place and took home their fifth cup this season with a time of 43.31.343.
The team to step on to second place on the podium was YKM Sport (2) piloted by Saruhan Tan and Kerim Zorlu who scored a time of 43.59.234. Another team that we have been seeing on the podium since the start of the season is Besiktas – Miele with pilots Murat Leki and Orçun Tufan who took third place on Saturday’s race with their time of 44.29.334.

The day at Lake Van began with technical checks in the morning and followed with qualifying rounds. The championship leaders Kerem Tuncer and Alpay Akdilek of team ECI Men Cosmetics took the pole position with a time of 1.32.735; they were followed 3 seconds later by Beşiktaş – Miele team piloted by Murat Leki and Orcun Tufan. The newcomers of this season Nevzat Arman and Onur Özgül of team Efe Project – Mitsubishi Electric achieved a time of 1.35.391 which took them to third place at the start.

The Championship races will be run in Van this weekend and the young athletes between the ages of 8 and 18 will be competing in 5 categories. A brand new safety precaution for our boats racing in the World Championship… 04.07.2012
All the boats racing in the Isiklar World Offshore 225 Championship are now equipped with a new safety precaution; “Dry Sprinkler Powder Aerosol Extinguishing Systems”, or DSPA in short, imported by Proco Group.
Particularly suitable for extinguishing fires in places like electrical control rooms, computer rooms, vehicles, sea and aircraft, power generators, server rooms, engine compartments where water should or cannot be used, DSPA is a new system developed to replace gas-based systems. The model suitable for boats has been determined as DSPA 11.2.

Istanbul Offshore Club Organizes the First Ever “Formula Future Turkey Championship” In Van to Support the Post-Earthquake Activities
“Formula Future Turkey Championship” organized by Istanbul Offshore Club starts in the province of Van with the slogan of “Young Stars on Water”
Driven by the mission of raising new athletes, introducing water sports to children and the youth and instilling the love of seas in this young generation, the championship is organized in Turkey for the first time. Istanbul Offshore Club officials set up camp in Van for training and preparing the candidates.

Emre Guler, IOC Secretary General and Esra Şenher, Assistant to Secretary General as well as Safety Crew Sait Gurer and Huseyin Ali Tomak arrived at Van on June 16 and set up camp at Van Edremit-Gebze Water Sports Center to prepare for the races that will be run on the same weekend as the Isiklar World Offshore 225 Championship’s Van leg.


IOC delegation visited Cemalettin Sevli in Ankara 11.06.2012
Last week, Istanbul Offshore Club’s Secretary General Emre Guler and Marketing Director Pinar Yilmaz paid a congratulatory visit to Mr. Cemalettin Sevli who was appointed as the General Manager of the Directorate of Seas and Inland Waters in May 2012. Prior to his new position, Mr. Sevli was the Istanbul Regional Director of the Undersecretariat of Maritime Affairs. Istanbul Offshore Club delegation presented a plaque to Mr. Sevli for his contributions to the offshore sport and invited him to the Van Grand Prix which will be run on Lake Van on 7-8 July 2012.

Great Attempt at IOC: Hopa - Iskenderun 05.06.2012
This year on Cabotage Day, July 1st, 2012 Istanbul Offshore Club President Ugur Isik will attempt to break the long-distance endurance record for the Hopa to Iskenderun course which was attempted several years ago by Ismet kalafatoglu and Turgut Kaynak. As Mr. Isik is getting ready for the event, two 1,000 HP Lamborgini engines are being prepared in Italy for his 14-meter Class 1 catamaran. Preparations are under way for the challenging course estimated to last three days. The course is planned to start at Hopa and continue with refuel stops at Ordu, Sinop, Bartın, Istanbul, Canakkale, Cesme, Bodrum, Kas and Anamur, and end in Iskenderun.

Uğur Işık’s Boat “Işıklar” Racing in the Class 1 Championship at Elio Sedef 24.05.2012
Uğur Işık, President of Istanbul Offshore Club, brought the powerboat, which he as the only Turkish pilot has been racing on in the Class 1 World Offshore Championship since the 2011 season, to Turkey for test runs.

The names on the podium and rankings remained the same in the “Isiklar World Offshore 225 Championship” Samsun Grand Prix 2.

ECI Men Cosmetics team with pilots Kerem Tuncer and Alpay Akdilek has been on a roll since the first race of the Championship and they added another victory to their score with a time of 44: 59:234 in Sunday’s race.

Another team that consistently displays high performance is Besiktas-Miele piloted by Murat Leki and Orcun Tufan; they followed the leader with a difference of one second while pilots Ilker Ozmen and Umur Duyar of Lenore Yacht took third place with their time of 45:15:250.


Samsun Grand Prix 2 on Sunday started with rainy weather and this time qualifying rounds were completed with Besiktas-Miele and pilots Murat Leki and Orcun Tufan taking the pole position with a time of 1:20:563. They were followed by Kerem Tuncer and Alpay Akdilek of ECI Men Cosmetics team with only a difference of 300 milliseconds.

The second leg of “Isiklar World Offshore 225 Championship” started at Ilkadim (First Step) Square in Samsun before an audience of estimated 200 thousand people.
“Isiklar World Offshore 225 Championship” is meeting the people of Black Sea for the second time. The team to win the Samsun Grand Prix 1 hosted by the Governorship of Samsun was ECI Men Cosmetics (88).
Pilots Kerem Tuncer and Alpay Akdilek achieved a time of 43:49:281 which took them to the top tier on the podium. They were followed by Besiktas-Miele with seasoned pilots Murat Leki and Orcun Tufan (44:09:968) in second place and Lenore Yacht’s Ilker Ozmen and Umur Duyar, the youngest pilots in the Championship in third place.

The Podium Standings Remain The Same On The Second Day Of 2012 Işıklar World Offshore 225 Championship

The same teams as the previous day shared the podium at the finish of Fatih Municipality Grand Prix 2, the second race in “Işıklar World Offshore 225 Championship”
Fatih Municipality Grand Prix 2 that started at Halic (Golden Horn) ended with the victory of Team ECI Men Cosmetics. Pilots Kerem Tuncer and Alpay Akdilek once again left all their competitors behind today with a time of 45:21.281 and added another success to their career.
The second team to take their place on the podium was Besiktas-Miele with pilots Murat Leki and Orcun Tufan with a time of 45:35.765. Third place was claimed by YKM Sport’s pilots, Saruhan Tan and Kerim Zorlu who followed 36 seconds later.

The second race of the Championship began as usual with technical inspections and qualifying rounds. The teams that experienced technical difficulties and boat damages due to flips, had fixed their problems; so the qualifying rounds started with 10 teams again. Team ECI Men Cosmetics, the winner of the previous race, once again took pole position in the qualifying rounds with a time of 2.07.703, followed 4 seconds later by YKM Sport. Besiktas-Miele achieved a time of 2.11.765 and qualified to start the race in third place.


2012 Isiklar World Offshore 225 Championship Started … 05.05.2012
“Isiklar World Offshore 225 Championship” started with the first race of the 2012 season, Fatih Municipality Grand Prix run at the Golden Horn, Istanbul.
Pilots Kerem Tuncer and Alpay Akdilek, the world champions of the previous season, who are racing for team ECI Men Cosmetics this year, won the first race of the championship in which 10 teams and 20 pilots are contending.
The time of 48:24.609 achieved by the duo took them to first place on the podium while team Besiktas-Miele with pilots Murat Leki and Orcun Tufan came up second with their time of 49:05.015. Almost 3 seconds behind them, Saruhan Tan and Kerim Zorlu of team YKM Sport succeeded to take the third place.

Introducing new sponsors, new teams and new pilots, Isiklar World Offshore Championship opened the 2012 season with Fatih Municipality Grand Prix at the Old Galata Bridge in Halic (Golden Horn). After completing the technical inspections, the teams lined up for qualifying rounds at 11.00 am.

Organized by Istanbul Offshore Club and hosted by Fatih Municipality, the first race of the 2012 season of “Isiklar World Offshore 225 Championship” to start at Halic.

20 pilots on 10 completely prepared powerboats will be racing in the “Fatih Municipality Grand Prix 1 -2” which will take place on May 5-6 as part of the 14-race championship. Pilots from Spain, Italy, Puerto Rico, Portugal and Turkey will compete in the first leg of the championship which will be run on a racecourse of 3.92 km.

Both days of the races which will participated by teams YKM Sport, Beşiktaş - Miele, GSYIAD - Galatasaray, Lenore Yacht, Efe Project / Mitsubishi Electric Racing Team, WD40, Angel Yacht, GHB Offshore Racing Team and ECI will begin with technical inspections in the morning and continue with official practice and qualifying rounds. The adrenaline-filled races will start at 2.00 pm.

A new championship season has arrived and Istanbul Offshore Club introduces the world and Turkey with a new race calendar, new teams, new sponsors, surprising transfers and a brand new championship.
Istanbul Offshore Club as part of Turkish Developing Sports Federation opened the 2012 season with a grand gala at Portaxe with the participation of the entire offshore racing community.


“Isiklar World Offshore 225 Championship” organized by Istanbul Offshore Club will start the 14-race 2012 season in Halic, Istanbul or the “Golden Horn” as it is popularly known.

“Isiklar World Offshore 225 Championship” is another addition to the club’s racing activities career and this year Istanbul Offshore Club takes a giant step toward raising new athletes through the organization of “Formula Future Turkish Championship”.

IOC has planned the 2012 calendar of “Isiklar World Offshore 225 Championship” as 14 races and added new provinces to the locations. The championship will travel to 8 cities; the route will start in Istanbul and end in Mersin after stopping at Samsun, Elazig-Tunceli, Van, Erdek and Gaziantep.

Pilots pass the Turtle Test

Dunk Tests of the teams that will be racing in the 2012 Isiklar World Offshore 225 Championship were carried out at the Burhan Felek Sports Complex pool on March 5-6, 2012.
Prior to entering the cockpit, all competitors must meet all eligibility requirements including “Turtle Testing”, the approved training in the “MacMillan Dunk tester”. All pilots are required to take the test before the start of the season and to demonstrate a practiced and working knowledge of all system-support equipment. Most of the participants are able to complete this test where an accident or a roll is simulated in a cockpit in fifteen to twenty seconds. Successful competition is judged on the racing competitor’s ability to maintain composure, follow the appropriate procedures for self-extraction and reach the surface in thirty seconds.
The dunk tests participated by the pilots and copilots who will be racing in the 2012 offshore championship was the scene of competition among the teams to complete the test in a shorter time which goes to show that the season will bring some great competition too.

Candidates in training for offshore judging …
Candidate judges’ trainings and seminar of the Motonautique (Offshore) branch of the Developing Sports Federation were held on March 10-11, 2012 at Burhan Felek Sports Complex, Istanbul.
The two-day long seminars observed by the Federation provided the candidates with information about the categories and sub-disciplines of the motonautique sports branch as well as flag use, safety, evacuation, emergency response and race management. After learning the fundamentals of the sport, the candidates took a test.

The first leg in the 2012 Istanbul Offshore Club 1st Offshore Bowling Tournament took place with the participation of pilots, managers and representatives from the offshore teams. Newcomers like Viki Handeli, Burak Kagnicioglu and Merve Vardarli joined the other bowlers and played hard to win. The tournament started in a competitive spirit with the participation of a crowded group of players. The tough competition in the final four among Kerem Zorlu, Viki Handeli, Burak Kagnicioglu and Erdal Coskun ended with the victory of Erdal, the daredevil photographer of offshore races.

AnadoluJet joins its speed in the air with World Offshore Championship, the symbol of speed on water and continues to provide support to this sports branch in the 2012 season. 2012 Class 1 World Offshore Championship starts in Doha, Qatar… 01.03.2012
After his successful performance in the 2011 season, Ugur Isik is again the only Turkish pilot to race in the Class 1 World Offshore Championship starting on 13-17 March in Doha, Qatar. Isik will be racing on the Isiklar-Relekta boat. As the pilot for the Zabo Racing team, Isik finished the last race of the 2011 season in third place and completed the championship in sixth place.

2012 championship will be run in six legs and will take place in Doha, Qatar, Genoa, Italy, Larwik, Norway, Cernobbio, Italy, Sanya, China and Dubai, U.A.E. The first race of the 2012 season where we will see 11 teams contending for championship is “Pearl Qatar Grand Prix”. After the first race to be run on Thursday, March 15, 2012 at 3 pm local time, the second race will start on Saturday, March 17, 2012 at the same hour. The official practice will take place on Friday, March 16 which is also the day allocated for audience-media and PR activities.

BRP Dominates the 2011 UIM WOC 225 Championship 21.02.2012
BRP swept the podium of the 3rd annual Union Internationale Motonautique (UIM) World Offshore 225 Championship (WOC) in Turkey last October. Of all the boats competing, all but one was powered by BRP's Evinrude outboard engines. A radical change from 2010 when only two boats were powered by standard Evinrude engines, and they occupied the first two positions.

After 20 nail biting races in 10 cities around Turkey, the competitors and guests from U.S.A., France, Italy, Spain and Turkey were treated on October 31, 2011 to a Championship Gala Dinner at Portax in Istanbul, home of the organising body. Not only were the 1st, 2nd and 3rd place boats powered by BRP's Evinrude E-TEC engines, but BRP was also awarded the title of ‘Manufacturer of the year’ at the awards ceremony.

The championship, organised by the Istanbul Offshore Club, has been running since 2003 and in this class of racing the rules stipulate that all boats must be similarly powered, using a single standard outboard engine, mounted on the same weight.

The proceeds of the campaign organized and participated by IOC, teams, pilots and sponsors to meet the needs of the gym at LOSEV’s Kindergarten and Elementary School for Children with Leukemia in Ankara were donated in kind to LOSEV on February 14 Valentine’s Day.

Offshore World Champions from Turkey Received Their Trophies in Monaco 14.02.2012
Istanbul Offshore Club’s pilots Alpay Akdilek and Kerem Tuncer of team Stihl received their World Championship trophies in Monaco where Istanbul Offshore Club received an award for its environmental activities with the Carbon Zero initiative.

International Motonautique Federation (U.I.M.) held the Award Ceremony for the 2011 season at Monaco’s famous venue Salle des Etoiles where World Champions from around the world received their trophies in the Offshore, Pleasure Navigation, Aquabike, and Circuit categories. 2011 Isiklar World Offshore 225 Champions Alpay Akdilek and Kerem Tuncer of team Stihl received their World Championship trophies from Andrea Dini, UIM Secretary General during the event where 80 World Champions from 25 countries also received their trophies.

Winning for the ninth time in a row, pilots Kerem Tuncer and Alpay Akdilek of Stihl this time achieved a time of 35:16,109 and maintained their lead position. Murat Leki and Tugberk Uca of Besiktas-Miele team finished second with a time of 35:21,890 and they were followed by Franke team piloted by Hakan Vanli and Adil Kucuksari with 35:47, 843.

Organized by Istanbul Offshore Club, the thirteenth race of “Isiklar World Offshore Championship” was held in Moda, Istanbul and the winner was Stihl, currently leading the championship. Pilots Kerem Tuncer and Alpay Akdilek continued their winning streak for the last eight races and won the CMS Medya Grand Prix with a total time of 35:49,953 while YKM Sport team with pilots Kerim Zorlu and Cengiz Cennetoglu took second place on the podium with 36;14,171. The third place on the podium was taken by Franke with Hakan Vanli and Adil Kucuksari as they followed YKM with a difference of only 4 milliseconds.

Andrea Dini has been appointed as UIM Secretary General with immediate effect. His candidature for this important role within the International Powerboating Federation was proposed by the UIM Executive Committee to the UIM Council which unanimously accepted his appointment at the last UIM Council meeting held in Monaco soon after the annual Awards Giving Gala. Andrea will replace Mrs. Régine Vandekerckhove who led the UIM Monaco office since 1992 and whom should be thanked for her long standing and appreciated service to the UIM.

Heavy rains, strong winds and rough seas have forced the hands of race officials into canceling race 2 of the BMW Norwegian Grand Prix. “It is very disappointing for everyone involved but our absolute priority is the safety of competitors and everyone who is out on the water,” said UIM race director, Gordon Sutherland. “We had hoped the weather would lift but unfortunately it hasn’t.

Stihl Conquers Lake Van… 10.07.2011
Işıklar Offshore 225 Championship Van Grand Prix 2 run on Sunday ended with the victory of Stihl, as the team confidently approaches towards the end of the World Championship.

Pilots Kerem Tuncer and Levent Başak succeeded to finish the race in the first position with a time of 36:31,343. The other two teams on the podium remained the same as the previous day but changed places.

Kerim Zorlu and Cengiz Cennetoğlu of YKM Sport team, the third of the previous day, achieved a time of 37:21,859 and took second place on Sunday’s race while Italian pilots Giovanni Casagni and Francesco Redaelli (37:53,218) on GSYIAD -Galatasaray boat completed the race in third place, just a second in front of Beşiktaş...


Stihl Wins Van Grand Prix… 09.07.2011
The eleventh round of Işıklar World Offshore 225 Championship in Van ended with Stihl, GSYIAD-Galatasaray and YKM Sport on the podium.

Kerem Tuncer and Levent Basak of Stihl completed the eleventh race of Isiklar World Offshore 225 Championship held in Van with a time of 35:43,062 which was their seventh consecutive win.

Italian pilots Giovanni Casagni and Francesco Redaelli of GSYIAD-Galatasaray team followed them with a time of 36:45,546. The new pilots of GSYIAD will continue to race for the remaining part of the season.

Kerim Zorlu and Cengiz Cennetoğlu of YKM Sport team, the 2010 champion, took third place with their time of 37:42,281 and added 120 points to their overall score.


Offshore Grand Prix back in Kahramanmaras. 26.06.2011
The 17th and 18th rounds of Isiklar World Offshore 225 Championship will take place in Kahramanmaras on October 15th and 16th. This beautiful city in southern Turkey, the only province to be honored by the Turkish National Assembly with a gold medal and the addition of prefix “Kahraman” meaning hero to its name for the local resistance the city showed against the enemy during the War of Independence, will be hosting the offshore races for the second time on the Menzelet Dam Lake.

Stihl Wins Both GP’s In Erdek… 19.06.2011
The fourth round of Isiklar World Offshore 225 Championship ended with the races held in Erdek and Sunday’s winner was again Alpay Akdilek and Kerem Tuncer of Stihl, the previous day’s winning team and 2009 World champions. Stihl team finished the race with a total time of 45:08,046 followed by, 37 seconds later, YKM Sport of Kerim Zorlu and Cengiz Cennetoğlu. After their brilliant podium finish performance on Saturday, İlker Özmen and Umur Duyar, the young pilots of Lenore Yacht team succeeded to step on the third place of the podium again on Sunday’s race with a time of 45:10;96.

After the victory in Adana, Stihl secured its leading position in the general classification by increasing their total points to 1132 with a double win in Erdek; GSYIAD-Galatasaray follows with 1092 points in second place and Besiktas-Miele in third with 989 points.

Işıklar World Offshore 225 Championship’s fourth round will be held in Erdek-Balikesir, one of the oldest seaside resorts in Turkey. Organized with the contributions of Erdek Municipality, a lovely town situated on the Kapidag Peninsula in Balikesir, the seventh and eighth races of the championship will take place at Ice & Sun Beach Club located at Kurbagli Beach on June 17th and 18th.

2009 World Champions Back On the Podium In Adana 29.05.2011
The third round of the “Isiklar World Offshore 225 Championship” in Adana was completed with the sixth race. Alpay Akdilek-Kerem Tuncer (STIHL), the World Champions of 2009, won the race with a time of 36.15,171 and got their first victory this season.

Today’s race was run under the title of “Governorship of Adana Grand Prix” and Besiktas-Miele team and its pilots Murat Leki and Hamdi Kitapci took second place on the podium with their time of 36.29,453. The third place was taken by Saruhan Tan and Kerim with a time of 27.07.171 who managed to prepare their boat by working until the morning after the serious accident they had the previous day.

At the completion of the Adana round, Besiktas-Miele left its lead position in the championship standings to GSYIAD-Galatasaray (906 points) by a difference of 7 points while Stihl is now in third place with 697 points.


GSYIAD-Galatasaray See The Checkered Flag In The Most Challenging Circuit 29.05.2011
The winner of the 5th race in the “ISIKLAR World Offshore 225 Championship” in Adana was Joseph - Berna Muhlbauer (GSYIAD-Galatasaray) with a time of 30:26,01; this is the first podium at Adana.
Due to tough weather conditions, the race in the Seyhan Dam Lake circuit was shortened to 14 laps with the decision of the race committee. The second place on the podium went to the World champions of the 2008-09 seasons, Alpay Akdilek and Kerem Tuncer (STIHL) who achieved a time of 31:35,750 while Olympic Marseille (67) took third place.
Despite the fact that pilots Jerome Brarda from the US and Max Dessaux from Spain flipped the boat and sank into the dam waters on the last lap, their time of 29:28,062 and 13 laps took them to third place on the podium. The team stated that they would work until the next morning to prepare the boat salvaged by the rescue teams for tomorrow’s race.

Winner was Team GSYIAD-GS in the third race of the World Offshore Championship Season took place at Samsun -one of the most important cities in the history of the country-

While Joseph-Berna Muhlbauer with a time of (41.04,468) took the first place from fierce competitors Beşiktaş; Halic races double winners Murat Leki and Hamdi Kitapçı, Team Beşiktaş (41.42,500) took the second place. Third place was last year's champion team YKM Sports, Kerim Zorlu and Cengiz Cennetoğlu (41.45,078).

Fatih Municipality Grand Prix, the second race in the Işıklar World 225 Offshore Championship organized by Istanbul Offshore Club was run on May 14th.

Beşiktaş became the team of the week with two victories this weekend after winning the football cup. They were followed by Joseph – Berna Muhlbauer of Galatasaray team in the second place while the third place on the podium was taken by Kerem Zorlu and Boğaç Hürzat of team WD40 that had to retire early yesterday.

Relekta Ready To Race 15.04.2011
Zabo Racing’s team principal Jan Zaborowski is confident that Relekta will make the start line for race 2 of the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix.

An all night work vigil by the Relekta crew has put Ugur Isik and Christian Zaborowski back in contention, 18-hours after a spectacular exit from race 1, crashing-out half way round lap 4 when running in fourth place. "The effort by the whole team has been just phenomenal," said team manager Adrian Annett.

Despite the disappointment of missing out on a possible podium finish and seeing their raceboat floating upside down in the centre of the course, both Zaborowski’s remained upbeat and saw the lighter side of things – ‘I don’t think many of us will sleep tonight’ was Jan’s immediate comment, with Christian saying that ‘he hoped maybe now officials would sign his dunk test form!!’

Zabo Racing Revises Driver Line-Up 07.04.2011
Wednesday, 6 April: Ugur Isik will climb back into the cockpit of a Class 1 raceboat in next week’s Abu Dhabi Grand Prix, 13-15 April, to take the wheel in Relekta alongside Norwegian throttleman, Christian Zaborowski.

Paul Gaiser, who partnered Zaborowski to take the team’s first podium in Abu Dhabi last season, remains very much involved and is retained as their number two driver. “Due to business commitments in South America, Paul has found it difficult to be in a position to race the entire 2011 season, and has therefore stepped aside to allow the team to focus on winning the World Championship,” said Zabo Racing’s team manager, Adrian Annett.

The call-up for Isik sees the Turkish racer back in Class 1 for his first competitive outing in over a decade. “It’s a tough year to be making a comeback,” he said. “There are many big names racing this year. For sure it will be tough but the team is well prepared and has a very competitive package. We will give it our best shot.”

Istanbul Offshore Club President Uğur Işık is heading back to world’s most prestigious offshore championship, Class 1 World Offshore Championship.

The first leg of the Class 1 World Powerboat Championship will start in Abu Dhabi, to continue in Norway, Italy, Brazil and to finish in Dubai. Class 1 promoter Nicolo di San Germano stated that they are extremely happy to see Uğur Işık back at the race course and that they are also working on a race that could be held at China.


Candidates Worked Hard For Offshore Marshal Training 04.04.2011
Offshore Marshal Candidates worked hard at the “Marshal Training Seminar”. The course was organized under the supervision of Developing Sports Branches Federation (GOSBF) and took place at İstanbul Burhan Felek Sport Complex on April 2nd and 3rd, 2011.

At the 2 day seminar, candidates were informed about all categories of the motonautique sport and its sub disciplines. The usage of the flags, rescue, emergency situations and race management subjects were shared throughout the course and lastly the candidates worked hard for the test.


Adana Will Host The World Offshore Championship For The First Time 25.03.2011
İstanbul Offshore Club had been performing the offshore races for 4 years at Adana. This year İstanbul Offshore Club will make a new start with “The World Offshore 225 Championship” again at Adana. Adana Governorship and Adana Metropolitan Municipality, Adana Sailing Club and İstanbul Offshore Club signed a protocol. The UIM 2011 World Offshore 225 Championship’s 5th and 6th races will become realty.

İstanbul Offshore Club organized the offshore races at Adana four years on a row. Now IOC started to organize the races with the title “World Offshore 225 Championship”. At the 5th and 6th races which will be held on 28-29 May, Seyhan Dam Lake, many local and foreigner competitors will sweat to come first place.

2010 World Offshore Champion: YKM Sport 01.10.2010
YKM Sport team and pilots Saruhan Tan – Kerim Zorlu won the grand trophy in the Architon 2010 World Offshore 225 Championship and became the 2010 World Offshore 225 Champions. Mersin, hosting the event for the fourth time, celebrated the World Championship in a festive spirit. The final and most challenging of the season, Mersin Municipality Grand Prix took place on Sunday and ended with the victory of GSYİAD Galatasaray with Olympique de Marseille in second and Beşiktaş in third places. GSYİAD Galatasaray ranked second in the general standings and Beşiktaş 1903 finished the 2010 season in third place.

The last races of the Architon 2010 World Offshore 225 Championship are run this weekend in Mersin that is hosting the event for the fourth time. MTSO Grand Prix, the 19th leg of the season took place off the coast of Peace Square where thousands watched the race. The day’s winner was GSYİAD Galatasaray with Berna-Josef Muhlbauer. Beşiktaş piloted by Ali Tanır and Murat Leki finished second and 2 YKM Sport with Saruhan Tan and Kerim Zorlu came third. The fierce competition between Beşiktaş and Galatasaray was breathtaking. Despite finishing in third place, 2 YKM Sport’s world championship was confirmed today. Due to the closeness of Beşiktaş and GSYİAD Galatasaray teams’ points, the second and third places will be determined in the next day’s race.
Organized since 2003 by Union Internationale Motonautique (UIM) and Istanbul Offshore Club (IOC) and classified as World Championship in 2008, the final races of the championship are run this weekend in Mersin. After the rains that were effective in entire Turkey, the weather was sunny in Mersin. The championship that drew thousands to the coasts brought a festive spirit to the city.

2010 Architon World Offshore 225 Championship “Shop&Miles Boat Show Grand Prix” race organized by the support of Shop&Miles 29th International Istanbul Boat Show and Marinturk Istanbul City Port was run on Saturday. The winner was GSYİAD Galatasaray with Berna – Josef Muhlbauer couple and they were followed by Beşiktaş with Ali Tanır and Murat Leki. The French team Olympique de Marseille team piloted by Jerome Brarda and Hamdi Kitapçı came third. 2 YKM Sport piloted by Saruhan Tan and Kerim Zorlu experienced a mechanical problem in the 30th lap while they were in second place and they could only complete the race in 8th place; even so they maintain their lead position in the championship.

Fatih Municipality Grand Prix, the 7th leg of Architon 2010 World Offshore 225 Championship was run on Saturday, September 25 in Haliç. 05 GSYİAD 1905 team piloted by Berna Muhlbauer and Josef Muhlbauer couple displayed a very successful performance throughout the race. The couple ranked second last season in the world championship and in this GP, they raced together on the 05 GSYİAD boat. They lost their lead position to 2 YKM due to a glitch in pit stop and they were followed by 03 Beşiktaş 1903 team.

02 YKM Sport team with pilots Saruhan Tan and Kerim Zorlu, despite all the hardships, continues to race in the championship and nothing seems to stop them. Another team that was unable to complete the race due to technical problems on Saturday was 05 GSYİAD Galatasaray but they succeeded to finish first on Sunday’s race. 03 Beşiktaş 1903 displayed high performance during the qualifying heats and they were followed by 05 GSYİAD Galatasaray which took advantage of the opportunities and completed the first day’s race in the first place.


Eagles dominate the CMS Media Race 20.09.2010
The excitement began early on during the qualifying heats in the CMS Media Grand Prix. 03 Beşiktaş 1903, 05 GSYİAD Galatasaray and 02 YKM Sport teams amazed the viewers with their speed. 05 GSYİAD Galatasaray team had to retire from the race in the 13th lap due to a technical problem. Furthermore, 02 YKM Sport bounced off a wave and lunged into the water in the 17th lap; with a broken nose, the boat suffered the danger of sinking.


2 YKM wins again at Rumkale, Gaziantep 07.08.2010
Saruhan Tan and Kerim Zorlu from 2 YKM Sport, have won another race and guaranteed the first stair at the podium this season. The weather outside was extremely hot, but the real struggle was inside the cockpits, where the inside temperature reached 70 degrees. This very hard Grand Prix consisted of 25 laps and the weather did not help at all. Despite all this, there was a huge interest for the races, from the local audience from Gaziantep. Pilots seemed happy about the attention towards them, and they also declared their happiness about the natural beauty and the historical structure of Rumkale.

Ambassadors watched the Offshore races in Van 25.06.2010
7th race of World Offshore Championship (WOC) at Van was watched by ambassadors from 22 different country, as well as Egemen Bağış, Minister of State and Chief Negotiator with European Union.

7th race of 2010 Architon WOC “Spor Toto Grand Prix”, was held at the Van Lake on June 19th. Minister of State and Chief Negotiator Egemen Bağış, who also watched the races at Van in 2009, watched this time with his guests from 22 EU countries including Spain, Finland, Slovakia and France.


Monster of Lake Van is now called 2 YKM Sport 20.06.2010
In the 90s, there were footages of a mysterical creature living at lake Van. Those who saw it claimed it looked like a Plesiosaur or Ichthyosaurus. It was referred to as “Monster of Lake Van” and to this day, the mystery couldn’t have been solved. Now, there’s a new monster at Lake Van and it is known with the name 2 YKM Sport. Winning the previous race as well, 2 YKM Sport team has become the victorious team of the both races.

Ministry of Culture Grand Prix started with a minute of silence for Turkish soldiers who died at Hakkari. 25 laps were runned at the racetrack as the previous day. Results did not change for this day either; 2 YKM Sport team became first, while 3 Beşiktaş 1903 became second and 5 GSYİAD Galatasaray became third. 2 YKM Sport was challenged by 3 Beşiktaş 1903 the whole time, but at the end, 2 YKM Sport was victorious.


YKM Sport Was The Fastest At Van Lake 19.06.2010
Going 90 miles per hour, offshore boats competed at Van today. Recently, 2010 Architon World Offshore Championship (WOC) took place at Van Lake which is also known as the pearl of Turkey. Racing event, which was organized with the great support of the Governorship of Van, had many thousands of spectators on Van Lake shore.

10 teams competed for 25 laps at the Spor Toto Grand Prix on June 19th, each making 1 pit stop during the race. 2 YKM Sport, 3 Beşiktaş 1903 and 5 GSYİAD Galatasaray were ahead of the competition as always, while 2 YKM Sport became the winning team of the Grand Prix. Second place of the podium belonged to 3 Beşiktaş 1903 team piloted by Murat Leki and Ali Tanır, while 5 GSYİAD Galatasaray pilots Kerem Tuncer and Josef Mühlbauer reached the third place on the podium.

Offshore pilots were fast like the wind at Menzelet Dam 05.06.2010
The first time ever race of Menzelet Dam, saw the victory of 02 YKM Sport pilots Kerim Zorlu and Saruhan Tan. 05 GSYİAD finished second, while 03 Beşiktaş came third and Olympique de Marseille finished fourth. Kahramanmaraş, famous for its’ icecream, this time made the news with Istanbul Offshore Club’s World Offshore Championship, which added a lot to the promotion of the city. Along with the spectacular races, the natural beauty of the area has also been heavily promoted.

10 teams were competing on the second GP at the Menzelet Dam, again over 35 laps. All teams performed extremely well on the second day at Kahramanmaraş despite the very hot weather, and 05 GSYİAD Galatasaray pilots Kerem Tuncer and Josef Mühlbauer were the winners at this GP. 02 YKM which finished the previous GP on the first position, end up second while third place at the podium was 03 Beşiktaş’s.

EAGLE FLEW HIGH AT MODA 23.05.2010
Moda Sea Club Grand Prix was perhaps one of the most exciting races. 3 Beşiktaş 1903 has finished the race first, followed by 2 YKM Sport and 4 Miele. 5 GSYİAD, one of the favorites of the race, had to leave early after a malfunction in their motor. 2 YKM raced much better than they did on Saturday and did not stop pushing for leadership until the last moments of the races.

5 GSYİAD Galatasaray and 3 Beşiktaş 1903 started the race really fast and were followed by 2 YKM Sport. Until almost the end of the race, 67 Olympique de Marseille team piloted by Philippe Benhamou and Jerome Brarda were at their tail, always pushing the first 3.


LION ROARED AT THE KALAMIŞ BAY - MODA 23.05.2010
The third race of 2010 Architon World Offshore Championship was held at Moda. 5 GSYİAD Galatasaray team, piloted by Kerem Tuncer and Josef Mülhbauer gave the best performance and finished the race first. Beşiktaş 1903 team followed them with the pilots Murat Leki and Ali Tanır. 2 YKM Sport was third with Saruhan Tan and Kerim Zorlu.

You will appreciate the difficulties of organizing two races, on Saturday and Sunday, and the teams’ incredible efforts to run these races... After winning Moda Yacht Club Cup Stihl gained the leadership of World Offshore 225 Championship, as well as they guarantee their Turkish Offshore 225 Championship. 4 Miele’s Joseph and Berna Muhlbauer celebrated an impressive and trouble-free second place and moved into second place in the World Offshore 225 Championship standings.

According to the survey made by the Marketing Turkiye magazine, Architon World Offshore Championship races are on the 3rd rank in the list of most advertising attracting sports programs, ahead of Formula 1 Grand Prix which is 5th on the list..

A New Leader - Stihl 21.07.2008
Alpay Akdilek and Kerem Tuncer, the unbeatable champions of last year, won both GPs of Van in the first ever Offshore races held in the "Van Sea", as the locals call the Van lake...

Kerem and Alpay, proving that it is almost impossible to catch them upto 1 meter waves, finally made up to the top rank of the 2008 Turkish Offshore Championship.


Stihl won both Kemer GPs. 23.06.2008
Miele took second places on both race where Stihl took the chequered flag. Marmaris Yacht Marina took the third place on the first GP and SIF JCB 44 on the second GP. Capsized Marmaris Yacht Marina lost very valuable points on the race to the championship. Both Joseph Muhlbauer and Kerem Tuncer almost passed out due to the dehydration caused by the extreme heat on the first day at the end of the race.


Stihl is Unbeatable At Adana Grand Prix 28.05.2008
Stihl Team Alpay Akdilek – Kerem Tuncer won the second Adana Grand Prix on Sunday. The team started at the pole position and lead all during the race, get the first place on the podium.

Stihl won the 3rd leg of Architon Turkish Offshore Championship Adana Grand Prix. Josef- Berna Mulhbauer, Team Miele, started the race at the second place and after the Lotus Jeans Racing Team's engine problems they gained again the second place.

Marmaris Yacht Marina, and Miele teams were in a great battle, Şerafettin Aydın and Barbaros Kutunsel Team Marmaris Yacht Marina won the third place on the podium.
